Biography
On 30 April 2026, Tom Federlin had three stumbling stones laid for his father and grandparents. Dr. Sigmund, Else and Hans Federlein fled to England and survived the Shoah.
Dr. Sigmund Federlein was born on 19 March 1883 in Scheinfeld in the Steigerwald Forest. He was the son of Rabbi Max Meir Federlein and his wife Rosa, née Rosenbaum. Sigmund was a doctor and came to Nuremberg in 1906.
On 14 May 1918, Sigmund and Else Wolf were married in Fürth. Else was born there on 14 December 1894, as the daughter of Adolf and Emma Wolf, née Adeling. Two weeks after the wedding the couple moved to the house at Scheurlstrasse 2.
The couple had a son, Hans Max, born on 10 June 1919 in Fürth.
Hans fled at the end of 1936 to London. His parents followed him there in July 1939.
