Zufuhrstrasse 8 is circled in red. To the north it joins the ring street at Frauentorgraben just east (to the right) of the Spittler gate tower, which can be seen at the upper side of the photo. Biography

On 30 April 2026, Léonardo Kahn, the grandson of Erna, had four stumbling stones laid for his grandmother and her family. Julius, Charlotte, Erna and Manfred Bernet fled to England in 1938 and survived the Shoah.

Julius Bernet was born on 31 October 1898 in Bamberg, as the son of Meier and Rosa Bernet, née Wolf. He was a business man and moved to Nuremberg in October 1916.

On 10 August 1928, he married Charlotte Königshöfer in Fürth. She was born there on 27 March 1906, as the daughter of Isaak and Mantha Königshöfer, née Altmann. Eight months after the wedding, the couple moved to the house at Zufuhrstrasse 8.

They had two children: Erna, born on 18 June 1929, and Manfred, born on 19 July 1930.

The family fled to England in 1938.
