Biography

On 29 April 2026, a stumbling stone was laid for Emma Sternau, at the suggestion of Oliver Staack, who lives at Bucher Strasse 21. Emma Sternau was murdered in the Izbica Ghetto.

Emma Sternau was born on 8 September 1878 in Neustadt an der Aisch. She was the daughter of Adolf and Lina Sternau, née. Bamberger.

In May 1904, she moved from Spain to Nuremberg. She was single and worked as a language teacher. She lived at Bucher Strasse 21 from April 1935.

Emma was deported on 24 March 1942 to the Izbica Ghetto and murdered.
