Biography

On 29 April 2026, two stumbling stones were laid for Dr. Alfred und Dr. Trude Hirsch. The idea came from Thomas Kühn. He studies the history of the Hirsch family as a research associate at the Old Synagogue Hagenow. Alfred and Trude Hirsch fled to the USA in 1938.

Dr. Alfred Hirsch was born on 8 August 1899 in Pirmasens in the Palatinate. He was the son of Friedrich and Frieda Hirsch, née Wassermann. Hirsch was a dentist and lived in Nuremberg since 1923.

On 25 March 1937, he married Dr. Trude Hirsch in Berlin-Schöneberg. She was also a dentist and came from a Jewish family in Hagenow in Mecklenburg, where she was born on 13 July 1904. Her parents were Max and Frieda Hirsch, née Haas. The couple lived at Wodanstrasse 72. In April 1938 they fled to the USA.
